Our Volunteer of the Year has a wonderful community spirit and is a real cheerleader. She serves in many capacities, so is able to touch the lives of many individuals. She preserves through challenging times and comes out wearing a smile. She is a true role model and wears the love she has for Miramichi on her sleeve. She commits long, hard hours to volunteerism and does not complain. She is willing to get her hands dirty and not just assume a title. Many people in Miramichi have come to know this extraordinary person because she has been involved in so many areas/organizations and made an impact in a most positive way. She attends most, if not all important events in our community and has since her return to the city nearly 10 years ago. Since then she has contributed to many fundraising events and organizations through the city. She was the founding advisory council for the Miramichi Fusion Festival for youth from 2009 to 2011, communications chair at the mayors prayer breakfast from 2008 to 2012, program chair for the Olympic Torch relay in 2009, Lector at Saint Michaels Basilica 2009 to present, board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters 2009-2012, Board member of Schizophrenia society of NB and served as president 2010 -2012, Active member of the Rotary Club of Chatham since the past 6 years, culture chair of Canada's Irish Festival in 2010, President of Canada's Irish Festival from 2011-2013, co-chair of Miramichi dragon boat festival from 2011-2012 as well president of Miramichi regional music festival.
