Purpose of Organization:
Mission Statement: To enhance independence for Canadians who are blind of partially sighted and to be the leader in promoting vision health.

CNIB ensures Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.

Programs for Volunteers:

1. Client Service

2. Fund Development
a) Dining in the Dark Committee (Miramichi event hosted annually in march)

3. Public Awareness
a) Ambassador & Ambassador Assistant

4. Operations & Administration
a) Volunteer Services Assistant

Time Commitment:
Varies based on availability and volunteer position desired.

Qualifications:
All new volunteers will receive an orientation to CNIB, training in the Sighted Guide technique, Vision mate training (if requires), and additional training specific to the role will be provided as needed.

Screening:
CNIB volunteer application form, informal interview, character references, criminal record check, orientation and training specific to the role.
